In sports, most coaches have good skills. Whether it is their knowledge of how they once played, work ethic, experience or skill, they know a great deal about the game. Generally they all lack a plan and process to take the student where they want to go. I do believe the great coaches have the plan in their head or written somewhere, but usually don't relate it to their students or publish it. I believe the plan should be published.
