Deforestation has long history in Ethiopia; particularly, in Chilimo forest under different governments regimes for their non-participatory approaches (protectionist approaches) that denied the socio-economic and cultural ties of the local community with the forest ecosystem and considered them as the forest enemies which exacerbated the situation overtime with the fall of the regimes.
