Born from a white Mother and black Father, Mary remembers and shares her feelings of what it was like growing up in 1950's Britain, as a mixed race child. She battles with overt racism from both black and white as she tries to settle into a predominantly white society; never quite belonging there. A life that many mixed race children born in the UK today can still identity with, despite their growing numbers..
