In Oshima, Japan, people are disappearing. Fishermen leave for work in the morning, never to return-their fishing ships are never seen again. There are rumors. Townspeople whisper of a monster in their midst. Is it possible? Could there really be a sea monster off the coast of Japan? Suspicious American oceanographers traverse the wide waters to investigate. Through careful scientific study and observation, the Americans realize the rumors are true. There really is something beneath the calm surface of Oshima's bay ... but despite their tools of science, they are powerless against the creature. The Americans have another weapon: the Guy, sent to Japan to stop the monster as it feasts on the souls of the living. The demon from the deep will not be stopped unless this unlikely hero finds a way to put its killing to an end. He is the only hope for the universe of Alpha Leonis, and he is prepared to fight.
