Bioelectronic noses have great potential for fast, reliable detection for the various applications. Significant efforts have been made toward the development of high-performance electronic nose, utilizing synthetic materials as sensing elements, for various applications. However, their selectivity and sensitivity for the detection of target analytes have been still challenging. Recently, olfactory sensing devices, the so-called bioelectronic nose, which are based on olfactory systems have been developed. In view of the advances achieved over the last few decades, various sustainable efforts will allow researchers to develop a new generation of bioelectronic noses for multiplexed detection methods. These efforts will enhance the sensitivity and selectivity of bioelectronic nose. This volume brings together the key aspects and factors in the development of this device, from the concept to applications and future perspectives and will provide a comprehensive resource for researchers in this field.
